They are PRIVATE Hunt Clubs - Just try motoring your boat through their "navigable" waters.

What the media fails to report, repeatedly, is the distinction between the private wetlands owned by "private hunt clubs" and actual public water resources.  

The WI DNR went along with the idea that these private retreats (which are limited to members) should be clothed with the same Constitutional status as public navigable waters.  

Reporters should also point out the hazards to the treasured Public Trust Doctrine when advocates try to stretch the doctrine to include private property.
