RKLD Emerges With A Win

Hot off the state website - The WI Supreme Court has given the RKLD a victory; overturning the Court of Appeals decision.

Frankly, it is YOU who has won.  You voted in favor of pursuing the fight over the DNR mandated water levels for Lake Koshkonong at the RKLD Annual Meetings, you voted to fund those efforts with a special charge on your property tax bill, and you voted for RKLD Board Commissioners who pledged to see this legal challenge through to the very end.

Our legal team and our team of biological and hydrological PhDs built a strong case for Lake Koshkonong - the most neglected body of water this side of driveway puddles.

Together, we are changing the culture of Lake Koshkonong.  No longer will we concede facts to those who have simply lived here the longest.  No longer will we concede facts to those who own the largest tracts of property.  No longer will we look the other way when we learn of illegal dykes, blockages and other abutments that favor one user group over the others.

It is indeed a great time to be a property owner on Lake Koshkonong.  With the experimental dredge project being near completion, with the Rock County Board of Supervisors amending and implementing RKLD's recommended Slow No Wake trigger of 778.00, and now with a legal victory of epic proportions, the petty complaints we hear from Lake Koshkonong's adversaries are a bit more tolerable.

Thank you again from the entire RKLD Board of Commissioners - there are no losers in this decision.  ALL user groups will see  much improved recreation, safety, and habitat
