Flow at Indianford - We need to drain and use a back hoe to clean out the wicket gates.
This time of year, this is a daily occurrence at the wicket gates. Yes, there is flowing passing through the trash racks, and yes, flow is being impeded.
The issue is, we need a DNR permit to build a coffer dam to completely drain this area and then excavate the sediment and sunken material that is clogging the flow from the bottom up.
When low water levels return this fall, October, November, we will move forward on this much needed maintenance with or without DNR approval. It should have been granted last fall, 2012, when our dredging permits on the north end of the lake were issued.
