State works to restore furry, ferocious martens

...Martens were native to Wisconsin until almost a century ago when trappers, who prized their sable-like fur, killed off the last of the creatures, which were already in decline from habitat loss after the clear-cut of forests by paper companies.

Here's some math - martens have been gone from WI for nearly one hundred years, yet DNR is bringing them back. Dams have existed, like Indianford, in WI for 150+ years, and DNR wants them torn down.
